3 Reasons I’m Excited to go to Myanmar

When I am writing this I am just 6 days from boarding a flight that will take me to Thailand and then on to Myanmar.

I. COULD. NOT. BE. MORE. EXCITED!

Myanmar has been on my list for a number of years for soooo many reasons. The biggest one being:

It is so untouched that there is not even a Macdonald’s there yet.

THIS BLEW MY MIND!

(Not sure if this is still true, but we will go with it for the time being)

So after doing my due diligence and researching all over the web and chatting to people I have comeup with the three reasons I am most excited to visit this country.

1. Bagan

I feel like I don’t need to say anything more about this. Bagan itself is probably the reason that I have such a drive to go to Myanmar. When we go, I will be getting up at sunrise each and every day I am here to make sure I can see these temples in all their glory!

+apparently its awesome if you rent bikes while you’re here!

2. The Food

I remember, years ago saying to my parents that the only reason I would travel would be for the food. Well, that’s changed but not by much. Every place I have been has had absolutely phenomenal food (except for that egg drop soup in Indonesia that made me sick for 2 days!). Food is inherently a part of culture and I cannot wait to experience traditional Burmese cuisine!

3. Inle Lake Traditional Fishing Style

The fishing style in Inle Lake is so traditional and that makes it so captivating. Inle lake is my second stop in Myanmar after Kentung. For this reason, I am so excited to see this for real!

Happy Travels!
